Medical Directives

President Obama recently encouraged everyone to get a living will, which is comprised of a Power of Attorney, Advance Medical Directive, and Appointment of Health Care Agent. The purpose of these documents is to appoint an individual whom you trust to make medical decisions on your behalf in the event that you become disabled and are unable to communicate your desires to your medical care providers. In addition, these documents should be drafted to clearly communicate your choices regarding end-of-life care in the absence of a qualified decisionmaker.
